They are finally finished! I probably should have written this when I actually completed the Celtic Knot Number Tiles back at the end of 2015, but things tend to get away from me fairly quickly. 4 to 6 months isn’t too much of a lag time to get a post out, right? The Celtic Knot House Numbers are actually an extension of my Celtic Knot Alphabet Tiles, which I first had for sale almost 3 years ago at this point (and now the requisite “Oh, how time flies” statement).
Every time I take my Alphabet Tiles to a show, people tell me that I should absolutely make some number tiles to go along with them. And I promptly agree – it’s a good idea. Actually, I designed all the Celtic knots for the number tiles around the time I designed the Celtic knot letters, and they have had a prominent place on my To-Do list ever since. But, honestly, the making of 26 tiles for the Celtic Alphabet was a huge undertaking, and afterwards, feeling hesitant to complete another rather large set of tiles, I just kept putting things off. Now 3 years down the line, the fact that the Number Tiles are actually finished (and furthermore listed on my website in my Shop section) deserves some sort of recognition. So, congratulations me!
The Celtic Knot House Numbers, like my Celtic Knot Alphabet Tiles, feature an original Celtic knot design twining through each number. The background of each tile is glazed, highlighting the knot design which remains unglazed in the buff color of the tile’s clay. I have glazed my display tiles in blue and green (to match the alphabet tiles), but as with my other tiles, I am happy to glaze them in any of my standard colors, or find custom colors as requested.
Made of durable stoneware clay, these tiles are perfect for house or apartment numbers, and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Screw holes in the top and bottom corners allow the Number Tiles to be easily hung, though they also may be grouted in place.
